Part of the Ward's original cabin, which the family lived in until the 1870's, is incorporated in the reconstructed cabin located in the park. It is open for tours. The two-story limestone and brick Prairie home, the Mansion, was home to various members of the family until 1961. The Ward-Meade house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Other features of the property include 2.5 acres of botanical gardens with more than 500 varieties of flowers, shrubs and trees, the Mulvane General Store, an old-fashioned mercantile that serves as a museum gift shop and visitors center; and Potwin Drug Store where visitors can order a soda fountain treat and shop for vintage-era candy. A special feature of the gardens is Anna's Place, a Victorian reading garden. Kansas items, old-fashioned toys, souvenirs, and unique gifts are available at the Mulvane General Store. The Drug Store and General Store are open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
