Passing through the Smoky Hill River Valley in Trego and Ness Counties, the 60-mile long Smoky Valley Scenic Byway is one of nine scenic byways in Kansas. This one features windmills, grazing cattle, unique limestone bluffs, native wildflowers, the historic Emanuel Lutheran Church, Threshing Machine Canyon, Butterfield’s Overland Despatch, the Wilcox School and the Cedar Bluff Reservoir, State Park and Wildlife Area.
