Open year-round, Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Botanica features over nine acres of breathtaking gardenscaping that includes over 3,600 species of plants. With a collection of 20 elegant sculptures, flowing streams, fountains and waterfalls, the gardens are designed to emphasize collections in display settings that feature plants particularly well-suited to south-central Kansas. An evaluation garden introduces and evaluates plants that may be suited to the region. Tulips, daffodils, flowering shrubs, azaleas, irises, roses, peonies, prairie wildflowers, asters, liriope, sedum, pansies, chrysanthemums, red-twig dogwood, witch hazel, and berried hollies are just some of what can be seen during certain times of the year at Botanica. Special events are held throughout the year.
