Gwinn Island Resort

I understand this place is a h-ll hole with shacks that normal humans would not occupy. After staying for 2 miserable nights we left early and were stuck paying for a 3rd night - DO NOT stay here.

great place to stay, it's not a Holiday Inn, it's a cabin!!, so if you like to camp or enjoy the outdoors you'll love gwinn island

We stayed at Gwinn Island 20 years ago and it was bad then. I was in the area and stopped in to see and and there have been no changes. The restrooms at the pool were extremly dirty and the pool shoul be permantly closed. I would not take my family to stay in those unclean tiny cabins. The lake is beautiful but this place is disgusting.

We have been going to Gwinn Island for 30 plus years. We were looking for a lake experience and that is what we got. I suspect the morons who write the bad reviews, would not be satisfied anywhere and think they are above everyone else. If you are looking for a peaceful, rustic, beautiful experience, this is the place to go. Snobs should do the rest of us a favor and avoid the place like the plague.

I've been there twice and heading back again this coming weekend. No, it's not the Holiday Inn but it is what you make it. I believe it has new owners now so perhaps some improvements will be made. All in all it's a great place and the lake is beautiful. I hope I catch some fish this weekend. LOL

My family and I rented a cabin @ Gwinn Island, Summer 2010 and had a blast!!! with the economy the way it is today we found it very affordable and although the pool was closed, the owner let us swim in the lake.. I honestly did not wan't to leave!! we go back often just to fish and plan on renting another cabin this summer... if you think this is a bad place!! well lets just say you're not a true camperman!!!

i really love this place i cant afford it as much as i would like but you guys do a great job keep up the good work!!

I have been going to Gwinn Island for thirty years! I go for the fact that you are on a secluded Island in the middle of a beautiful lake. Were else in Kentucky can you do that? The cabins are old and the pool is out of order, but the people make up for all of that! If you want a real camping experience,with some great people,go to GWINN ISLAND!We love it!

umm just for all yall who dont like gwinn island is crazy,,, i live there and i love going and lookin at the beautiful lake i mean i am right on that big hill...and yes we do have new owners and they are wonderful people and the lady who cleans the cabins do a great job and fyi the pool is getting fixed so yea

My husband and I love this place. We found it on vacation 25 years ago. We were pulling a pop up camper but rented for 3 days anyway. Wonderful time. We have been back at least 30 times always staying for at least 3 days and try to get there for a week at a time. We even rented 2 cabins one year and had our 12th anniverdary party there. Had alot of friends down and they to love Gwinn Island. I don't care to swim so having a pool put in working or not wasn't a big deal for me.( No pool when we started going) Quit cutting down a place that dosn't have hot tubs, gas fire places or spa tubs in the bathroom. Get outdoors and enjoy. Texasgrandmom should stay home!
