Charlene Richard was known as a Cajun saint. Thousands of South Louisiana Catholics make a pilgrimage each year to the grave of this girl who died of leukemia at age twelve in 1959. Her tomb is festooned with flowers, mementos and notes to Charlene Richard imploring her intercession in all manner of worldly problems.
