I was in the area on TDY orders for Fort Polk and found that Landmark was one of the only hotels that would match the government per diem rate. The newest hotel in the area wanted to charge more than $100 over the per diem rate, not a very military friendly move. I had read the prior complaints, but honestly you will always find people willing to make a minor issue into a full blown complaint when it is unwarranted. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is the best I have ever seen for a continental breakfast. I will be staying at this hotel upon my scheduled return later this year.

Most of the reviews I found online were from 2011 - I had hoped that in that time frame the place had maybe gotten remodeled or improved - Don't think it has - Sure they have a facebook page that shows okay rooms and this glorious breakfast of bacon strips, biscuits, and gravy - none of which you will find at this hotel - Actually you'd get better care and service if you stayed at the Bates motel - the room had cracks in the ceilings and stains - I pondered if I was going to wake up wet in my bed from the roof leaking - the breakfast was not the lovely one pictured on their facebook page - but cold cereal and coffee - and another member of my military party found someone elses socks and underwear behind their bathroom door - so evidently the maids at this hotel still suck - Unfortunately because they get business from the local military base - this hotel probably will stay in business even though it is a crap place to stay - Needless to say I slept on top of the bed spread - and I would recommend that you stop at Walmart before staying here - buy some cheap sheets you dont mind ditching when you leave - some latex gloves and your own bathroom cleaning supplies - least you pick up some crap someone else left
