"The oldest French West Indies-style Creole plantation along the Mississippi," Ormond has an interesting past including the disappearance of its original owner, Pierre d'Trepagnier, housing soldiers heading to the Battle of New Orleans, and being captured by the Union Army during the Civil War. Each guest room in this antebellum home features period antiques, a private bath, and air conditioning and heating. This home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is open to the public for tours.
