A largely rural area known for its historic Creole-style plantations and unique blend of cultures that include French, African, American Indian, Spanish, and Creole, this 116,000 acre heritage area includes the Cane River Creole National Historical Park, seven National Historic Landmarks, three State Historic Sites, and many more historic plantations, homes, and churches. Guided tours are offered daily.
