The focal point of this historic site is the gravesite of the Unknown Confederate Soldier that was tended by local residents for almost one hundred years and gained official designation in 1962. This park is also the home of the Louisiana Country Music Museum that honors Louisiana musicians and music and contains displays that celebrate traditional folk tunes to contemporary country, as well as displays of musical instruments, manuscripts, and other memorabilia. An amphitheater, outdoor exhibits, picnic areas, and a playground are also part of this historic site.
