Visitors to this historic area may explore the natural levee forests, bayous, swamps, and marshes by canoe or on foot and ranger guided tours are available. Evidence of prehistoric human settlement, colonial farming, and plantation agriculture is present and the visitor center has exhibits and a video of the history of this area.
