Built during the presidency of Andrew Jackson and designed by renowned architect William Strickland, this landmark Greek Revival building is the only building in America to have served as both a U.S. and Confederate Mint. A display of Newcomb pottery and crafts, as well as memorabilia, sheet music, and instruments that chronicle the history of New Orleans jazz is on display in the building. A Historical Center is also in the building that contains an archive of maps and documents including early French and Spanish colonial records.
