Shadows-on-the-Teche is a brick antebellum home constructed between 1831 and 1834 by sugar planter David Weeks and his wife, Mary Clara Conrad. Now a museum and property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Classical Revival-style Shadows on the Teche is open to the public. It features eight white columns across the front facade, over 17,000 paper documents, original photographs, and furnishings.
