Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this elegant Victorian hotel is known for its landmark 140-year-old cornstalk cast iron fence that surrounds the hotel and for which the hotel was named. Originally the private home of Judge Francois Xavier-Martin, a Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, this home now offers intimate and beautifully decorated guest rooms with amenities such as antique furnishings, fireplaces, Oriental rugs, stained glass windows, canopy beds, wireless Internet, private baths, and high vaulted ceilings.
