More than 200,000 objects spanning a dozen different types of natural history collections that have been acquired through expeditions, exchanges, donations and purchases from the 1820's to the present from local areas, Africa, Asia, and South and Central America can be found at the Amherst College Museum of Natural History. The Hitchcock Ichnology Collection continues to be the largest fossil track collection in the world and one of the most studied.
