This natural history museum, located on the campus of Amherst College, features a surprisingly copious number of artifacts in its collection that includes around eighty thousand objects of scientific and historical interest; some areas of interest surveyed by the collection are invertebrate and vertebrate fossils, minerals, geological items, and exhibits that explore living animals and anthropological artifacts. There are items of interest and importance that have been gathered from around the world since the collecting began in the 1830s.
