Maintained by the Amherst Historical Society, the Amherst History Museum in the 1750 Strong House "takes visitors on a journey from the town's colonial past, through its industrial age and into the computer-driven present." The period rooms of the Amherst History Museum are filled with decorative arts, paintings, household implements, agricultural tools and more, including pewter plates, blue and white Staffordshire china, an 18th century grandfather clock and a Victorian calling card holder. Rotating exhibits, special programming, and educational tours are offered throughout the year.
