Puffers Pond
State Street
Amherst, MA 01002
Puffers Pond is a favorite hangout for students from the University of Massachusetts, as well as other locals; not only can one fish for bass and trout, the pond is also great for swimming, in that the pond stays perpetually fresh due to being fed by a stream at one end, while excess water exits the pond at the opposite end via a large waterfall. The pond is also nice for those who simply desire a picturesque bucolic setting in which to relax, and, in addition, there are a number of nature trails in the vicinity of the pond.
