This spectacular trail, winding from Holyoke Range State Park to Mount Toby Forest, and traversing the one-thousand-acre Lawrence Swamp and other Amherst region conservation lands, is great for both nature enthusiasts desiring a quite and peaceful communion with nature, as well as mountain bikers in search of a challenge, and is named after the famous New England poet; the southern portion of the trail is comprised of fourteen and a half miles, while the northern section is a little over eighteen and a half miles in length.
