This house museum, run under the auspices of the Beverly Historical Society, offers guided tours Tuesdays through Saturdays; the house is situated on a portion of a land grant that was granted to the Old Planters in 1635. The Balch Family occupied the house until 1914, and the frame house, built in 1636, is among the oldest of its kind in the country and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
