website
An early leader in Boston’s African American community, activist George Middleton began constructing a two-family residence with Louis Glapion in 1786. A typical example of late 18th century Boston homes built by African Americans, this wooden structure is now the oldest extant home on Beacon Hill. The George Middleton House is a private residence and is not open to the public.
