Now a Boston Globe store, this is one of the oldest surviving structures in Boston, having been built in 1712, and was the site of the publication of many important works of literature, including Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “The Scarlet Letter,” Henry David Thoreau’s “Walden,” and the Atlantic Monthly Magazine.
