Since its inception in 1958, the Charles Playhouse has enjoyed a long and colourful history and remained one of the most active Off-Broadway Theatre spaces in Boston. Throughout its history the theatre has seen the presentation of many classic dramatic works, including Jean Paul Sartre’s “No Exit,” Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest,” Truman Capote’s “The Grass Harp,” Arthur Miller’s “A View From the Bridge,” and Tennessee William’s “Orpheus Descending” and “ This Property is Condemned.”
