Founded in 1815 to enhance and preserve the performance of choral music in Boston, this chorus and period orchestra is the “oldest continuously performing arts organization in the country.” Both innovative performances and the performance and preservation of classic period pieces continues to be the driving force of this fine organization that features concerts of choral pieces and such symphonic pieces as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony that features the choral ‘Ode to Joy’ in its fourth movement.
