This salt box house was built in 1736 for the Reverend Josiah Dennis, for whom the town is named, and was bought by the town in 1967 and fully restored; listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the structure now functions as a monument and museum and offers, among other things, a diorama of the old Shiverick Shipyard and a collection of items having to do with the glory days of the great clipper ships.
