If one wants to learn about the rich history of Falmouth, this historical society has much to offer; under the auspices of the Falmouth Historical Society are run museums, historic homes, formal gardens, trolley tours, walking tours, and exhibits and research material about such disparate subjects as whaling history, maritime records, ships logs, the War of 1812, The Revolutionary War, genealogy records, the home of Katherine Lee Bates, who wrote the song “America The Beautiful,” and much more.
