Surrounded by gracious gardens and a setting that recalls an early New England farm, this house has the distinction of being the oldest house on Cape Ann; if you've ever visited a really great house museum and wanted to sit in the chairs and sleep in the beds, this is your chance! You step back in time here and experience what life was like in this area in the early 1700s; you have a choice of three early bed chambers featuring eighteenth-century paneling; there is also a loft accommodation including the great room below. The house had its beginning in late 1640s, Thomas Riggs bought it in 1661, his decendants sold it to the current owner 1995 along with half its furnishings. One can enjoy traditional New England breakfast in one of three locations: the old kitchen, the dining room, or the garden.
