A project of the Great Barrington Land Conservancy, The Great Barrington Housatonic River Walk has become a model for numerous towns situated along other Massachusetts rivers. Besides transforming a blighted riverbank into a town park and greenway trail, this hands-on stewardship program has engaged over one thousand seven hundred fifty young students and adult volunteers and professionals in practical ecology, clean-up, restoration, native landscaping and trail-making activities.
