Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Lawrence Heritage State Park brings to life the history of Lawrence, one of the nation's first planned industrial cities; in a restored 1840's boarding house with original beams and brickwork. The Visitor Center's two floors of interactive exhibits includes a turn-of-the-century kitchen with antique stove and sink similar to that of the mill workers and models of the mills and boarding houses. Visitors can trace the routes of more than 30 immigrant populations who settled in Lawrence, test their skills at planning their own industrial city, and enjoy a video presentation of the Great Strike of 1912.
