Housed in a beautifully restored historic freight yard, over 25 exhibits on three floors portray a microcosm of America as told through the history of North Adams and the environment of the Berkshires. Exhibits include mills (cotton, shoes, machinery, electronics), farming, schools, immigration, religion, flora and fauna, politics, ballooning, railroad, replica of Fort Massachusetts barracks room and black light gallery. Changing temporary exhibit area and hands-on areas for children.
