This site was the first National Historic Site recognized by the National Park Service, and is comprised of nine acres of land that encompass twelve historic buildings and structures along the Salem waterfront; there is also a visitor’s centre, which, along with the park itself, serves to further elucidate the rich maritime history of the area.
