This historic structure was originally the home of meat-packing pioneer Nathaniel Swift, and was constructed near the middle of the Eighteenth Century; the house exemplifies characteristics that epitomize typical houses from the region and time period in question, such as wide floorboards, large fireplaces, and a narrow staircase that is reminiscent of the type of staircase that was found in the cabins of ships in the Eighteenth Century. The house now features eight rooms that showcase period furnishings, clothing, antiques and artifacts that date from the Colonial through the Victorian periods.
