The Shubert Theatre is considered the “little princess” of Boston’s Theatre District,
seats sixteen hundred, and has a history that stretches back to the early years of the Twentieth Century; throughout the years many of the brightest luminaries of acting have graced its stage, including Sir Laurence Olivier, Sir John Gielgud, John Barrymore, Richard Burton, Julie Andrews, and many more. The theatre continues to present finely-tuned performances of dramas and musicals, and has become the home for such organizations as Boston Lyric Opera and World Music.
