Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum, located along two and a half miles of Patuxent River waterfront and St. Leonard Creek in Calvert County, is a state history and archaeology museum which explores the cultures and environment of the Chesapeake Bay region of the past 12,000 years. During the War of 1812, the largest naval battle in Maryland's history took place here. Visitors can tour archaeological sites, trails, acres of working farmland, and restored farm buildings at this 560-acre park. Exhibits and educational programs are also available.
