This historically significant house was the home of three important generations of Carrolls: Charles Carroll the Settler, the first Attorney General of Maryland; Charles Carroll of Annapolis, and Charles Carroll of Carrollton, one of four Marylanders and the only Roman Catholic to sign the Declaration of Independence. The restored house functions as a museum and also provides educational programs. The Carroll House is one of only 15 surviving signers' birthplaces in the United States.
