Named in honor of Mrs. J. Millard Tawes, a former first lady of Maryland, this five-acre botanical park offers representations of various geographic regions of Maryland, including a "Western Maryland" forest, an "Eastern Shore" peninsula, and a streamside environment. The barrier -free garden contains scenic ponds and many cultivated plants as well.
