The Maryland State House is the oldest American statehouse in continuous use for legislative and governing purposes. Along with exhibits that depict the history and changes related to the statehouse itself, Maryland, and the United States, visitors can also visit nearby memorials to two prominent African-Americans, Thurgood Marshall and Matthew Henson.
