One of Baltimore's oldest museums, The Flag House & Star-Spangled Banner Museum was the home of Mary Young Pickersgill who sewed the 30 x 42-foot Star-Spangled Banner that flew over Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. The house is furnished with Federal antiques including pieces from the Pickersgill family. Tours are offered and the museum is also available for receptions, parties, meeting, and special events. The flag now hangs at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History.
