Founded in 1985, by Esther Gordy Edwards, the Motown Historical Museum's mission is "to preserve the legacy of Motown Record Corporation and to educate and motivate people, especially youth, through exhibitions and programs that promote the values of vision, creativity and entrepreneurship." Exhibits include historical photographs, artwork, music, costumes, and other memorabilia. Visit the original recording studio, "Studio A," where many stars, including Diana Ross and the Supremes, Marvin Gay, The Jackson Five and Stevie Wonder, recorded their first hits.
