The Architectural Salvage Warehouse of Detroit is a non-profit salvage and resale organization that was started in response to the tremendous amount of waste being generated in the demolition of houses in Detroit and its suburbs. ASWD proceeds go to historic preservation projects and in grants to other partnering historic preservation organizations. Its inventory of architectural materials include sinks, fireplace mantles, door knobs, shutters, lighting, gates, wood flooring, cabinets, furnaces, benches, doors, ceiling fans, structural lumber, garden masks, and tables.
