From the observation deck of the 210-foot Tower of History, built in the 1960's as a Catholic Church memorial to the early missionaries to the area; visitors are given an opportunity to view up to 1,200 square miles, including the world's busiest inland shipping channel, several historic homes, the Museum Ship Valley Camp, the St. Mary’s River and the Canadian wilderness. The Tower of History is open daily from mid-May through mid-October.
