"Used as a saloon and an encampment of both Union and Confederate troops during the War for Southern Independence" before becoming a bed & breakfast, the Baker Plantation House with its 14-inche thick walls, burn marks on the parlor room floor, saber marks in the mantle and the bullet holes is open for tours Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sundays 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In January, tours are only given on the weekends. Special events are held on the property throughout the year. Visitors can also enjoy the museum and antique store on-site.
