Along with Prophet Joseph Smith, several members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints spent five months in this jail awaiting trial. While here, Smith received three revelations that are recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants. This restored jail allows visitors to observe the conditions in which the men were susceptible to.
