I hiked portions of the Lone Pine Trail and the Maple Falls trail with my son on Saturday January 14, 2012. We hit the trails in late afternoon and were the only people on the trails at that time. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed the quiet and serenity of the area. There are some nice views of the Missouri River valley to the west. If you are into Geocaching, there are a couple caches along the trails. We got a late start so we did not get to hike all of the trails on Saturday. We will go back again when we have more time to explore this tranquil area. This is a remote location and I would not recommend going by yourself. beside, it's always more fun with a hiking partner.
