Ripley Court Square

Dating back to 1837, this square was the beginning of the small community of Ripley. It is etched in history as the place where, on November 5, 1889, Col. W. C. Falkner, great-grandfather of author William Faulkner, was shot by R. J. "Dick" Thurmond.
