In following the course of William Faulkner's family history, the railroad is an important factor. This railroad was owned and operated by the Col. W. C. Faulker, great- gradfather of author WIlliam Faulkner, during the late 1800's. Faulkner's partner in the railroad, R.J. Thurmond, would eventually gun down the Colonel over an old busines feud.
