Open on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Waveland's Ground Zero Hurricane Museum is dedicated to telling Mississippi's Katrina story. Housed in the restored Waveland school, a historic Mississippi landmark; this museum is "not a memorial to a disaster, but a tribute to the strength and beauty of the human spirit." The school was the sole surviving building remaining on Waveland's historic Coleman Avenue business district after Katrina.
