I was born at St. Pats on Sept. 12, 1933 Baptized in St. F.X., attended SFX grade school. During this time I received my 1st Communion, Confirmation, and served as an Altar Boy serving Mass for Fr's Howard J. Lugar, Coughlin, Black, Blackmore White, Geise, and many others. I lived at 322 W. Spruce so was close, ready and available to serve Mass every morning at 6 AM.
My parents were A. Paul Martz and Inez (Kramis) Martz. My brother A. Paul Jr. is deceased, my sister, Donna (Martz) Hart still lives in Missoula and is active in SFX.
I currently live in Sherwood, Oregon
I rate SFX as the greatest and most beautiful of all churches I have see in the USA.
As a footnote; I also served at St. Ignatius Church, and Fr. Geise and I would bring the Mass (I as an altar boy) to the Italian prisoners of war who attended St. Mary's Mission in the Bitteroot valley
