One of five Farmers Markets owned by the State of North Carolina and operated by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, the Western North Carolina Farmers Market is open year-round, seven days a week to sell high-quality fruits and vegetables, mountain crafts, jams, jellies, preserves, sourwood honey, fresh baked breads, cookies and other farm fresh items. A deli offers sandwiches and ice cream. The 36-acre Western North Carolina Farmers Market is open 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. April through October and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. November through March.
