My husband and I decided to take a romantic weekend away from the house, chores, etc by staying at Smith Lake for Labor Day weekend. The price was great for the cabin and the travel time and distance great, we live in Spring Lake, NC. Everything was great until we took a late afternoon nap to wake up with bugs crawling on our pillows and bed. Trying not to be a whoose I called the manager and informed her. She was very understanding and willing to reimburse us for the night if we decided to leave and give us a different cabin the next day which was Sunday. After a few hours of not being able to get the thought of bugs on my pillow out of my mind we decided to drive the 20+ miles home and return in the morning for another cabin. But first we took video of the bugs for evidence. The next day we got another cabin and everything seem great until Monday morning. When we woke up Monday morning my entire left side was covered with bites, from back of my left shoulder down to my finger tips, down my left leg, right leg, torsel, breast, back, and neck. Of course, I just thought mosquites b/c when I showed the video of the bugs to the office personnel that claimed that they did not recognize the bugs. They even acted shocked and suprized by their presence.
