This exquisite historic site preserves and protects the antebellum house to which the famous poet and biographer Carl Sandburg relocated to in 1945 and which served as his home for 22 years. The site also preserves the over 260 acres of land the house sits on, as well as over 50 historic structures. Features of the property include the early 19th century house, a 1900's dairy goat barn complex, an orchard, flower and vegetable gardens, and over five miles of trails. Guided tours are available.
