Please note before you go to High Point City Lake Park in Jamestown NC that they do not Liability insurance to cover accidents that result in any personal damage or injury. Also note that if you are not wearing the proper footwear (sneakers) & slip, fall etc. it is your fault. Please email me if you had any related accidents here or other City property. I now have low back spinal damage to live w/ forever but "it wasn't there fault the steps are made of slick surface composite material (not wood) & covered in mulch & the mulch rolled under my shoe"

a park is a park accidents are going to pop up everywhere as long as youuse the proper method of going down a small set of stairs which usually includes using a handrail you shouldve been fine

I think it's rediculous that a park that is paid for by tax payers money is not only closed for swim meets but they want to charge full price $6.00 for the water slide. There are a lot more people that are NOT in swim meets that would like to take advantage of our paid taxes by taking a dip in the pool. Let the swim meet people use private pools, or have their meets after hours 6pm-9pm. I like to swim and want my kids to have fun on a hot summer Saturday afternoon. It's very disappointing for the kids as well as myself when I work 50 hours per week just to make ends meet and only have 1 Saturday a month to really spend with the kids. If they could have at least gotten to go down the waterslide for a reasonable price, it may have been worth it.

I agree that the park should not charge full price for the slide if the pool is closed (like, maybe half price for slide only) and am totally in sympathy with the reality that we don't get enough time to have fun with our kids. However, I am a tax payer too; and, come on, that pool is only closed for one or two weekends per summer (it's only this summer that it was closed twice -- in past summers, it was only once). There is really not many other swimming pools nearby large enough for a long course (50 meter) meet.

To the person complaining that you fell and City Lake is saying you do did not have the proper footwear...kudo's to City Lake! If you are an adult and cannot wear proper footwear...that is on you. My kids and I have been going to this park since my son was 3 (he is now 20) and none of us have ever been hurt nor have we fell! This is a great park, with great people and it is very safe. It makes me sad when people want to try to get something for nothing! I am going back today and taking my friends 3 children and we all know what footwear to have on and we know we will have a blast!

I wear flip flops pretty much 24/7. If I fall and bust my butt it is MY fault, not the steps I were on, sidewalk, yard, road..etc.... Get over it..falls happen. It is not the city lakes responsiblilty to pay for your accident. Me & my family LOVE the City lake park..mulch and all!
